"Landmark ruling is sweet for diabetics

A DIABETIC man has won the right to become an ambulance
officer in a landmark decision overruling claims that his
condition would risk patients' lives.

The ruling, by a federal magistrate, could allow people with
type 1 or insulin-dependent diabetes to apply for jobs in
the police force, fire brigade and as bus and train
drivers."
