A good site for meters and for other info also.
..

A good project for someone wou;d be
to periodically to post a long list of links
for new people. It beyond my scope now.

An example is the MHD FAQ'S

There is many well written articles on
almost every diabetic subject on the
internet now.

Think about it.

Guy...

I'm afraid you had a slip of the keyboard.

The link you wanted is:

www.mendosa.com

The sad truth about your suggestion is that around here, just agreeing
to what links should or should not be included will likely turn this
thread into a multi week argument.

Hi Guy - and any others interested.

I've listed some links below, but by far the most important
one is
http://www.alt-support-diabetes.org/NewlyDiagnosed.htm

This is not an exhaustive list, but some, like Mendosa, have
links to many others. Those which require registration have
never sent me a spam or promotion. I'm sure other posters
can add to the list, but this is as short as I can make mine
for newbies:-)

A.S.D. home page (check out the rogue's gallery, and add
yours:-)
http://www.alt-support-diabetes.org/

Testing and dietary control (all are Jennifer's advice):

General Diabetes Information:

The m.h.d. FAQs

David Mendosa
http://www.mendosa.com/
Joslin
http://joslin.org/main.shtml
The ADA

Diabetes Australia
http://www.diabetesaustralia.com.au/home/index.htm
Diabetes UK
http://www.diabetes.org.uk/home.htm
National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney
Diseases
(NIDDK)
http://diabetes.niddk.nih.gov/
UK Prospective Diabetes Study (Type 2)
http://www.dtu.ox.ac.uk/index.html?maindoc=/ukpds/
Diabetes Control and Complications Trial (DCCT) (Type 1)
http://diabetes.niddk.nih.gov/dm/pubs/control/

Medical Research Search Engines (registration required for
some, spam-free):

Highwire (A brilliant Stanford U site)
http://highwire.stanford.edu/cgi/search/
Medscape
http://www.medscape.com/px/urlinfo
Google Scholar
http://scholar.google.com/advanced_scholar_search

And finally, a great Australian support site which accepts
international members for young people with diabetes:
http://realitycheck.org.au/

I attempt to keep them current - please let me know if any
links have changed.

Cheers, Alan, T2, Australia.

Why aren't these links on a "favorite links" site at
www.alt-support-diabetes.org ???

To avoid the arguments, the policy could be any link affirmed by, say, 3
posters is included; others are excluded.
