Default What a pain...

Boy is it tough getting acclimated to the insulin. Haven't been on for a bit
as some may have noticed. It would seem, much to my doctor's chagrin, that I
am TOO sensitive to the insulin...

One bright spot is I am FINALLY becoming acclimated to the "normal" BG
levels. BUT, along the way, I have hit in the 40's and 50's a few times, and
have Lynn so scared that if I just stumble she thinks I'm too low, and going
to go into insulin shock. The hypo's have induced my doc to lower or stop a
few meds completely. Anything that means I have to take less pills is a good
thing...

He totally stopped my Amaryl, and Lopid since my total cholesterol was 79.
He also cut my Cozaar in half because now that I have my BG numbers down I'm
not as hypertensive. BP was 82/50 and 90/62 so he kind of thought that was a
little low...lol

If I had known getting healthy was make me feel so crappy I'd have stayed
sick...<snicker>

Eh... I *know* about this.

Sometimes there's dips in the road and you've gotta go downhill before
you get to go uphill again.

Holy crap! I had a TC reading of 104 once and thought that was like a
fricken world record. Of course, my meds got decreased pronto.

I kinda feel like that scene in Caveman(Ringo Starr, John Matuszak) where
they were trying to get that giant dinosaur egg up that hill, and they kept
going back and forth...lol

Actually, it is - for either men or women, I can't remember which! But
one of us has a U-shaped sweet spot; too low gives you about the same
risk of all-cause death as too high, just different causes. Too low is
strokes and violent death, I think!

See, that's what I had thought. You have to maintain a certain level either
way to be safe. But apparently I was still in the safe zone, hence the
directive to stop the Lopid.
