Why do almost all messages disappear when I KF Chung?
Also, how many damned identities does he use in usenet?
I guess I should just not KF him and just ignore his rantings as I
have advised other that don't have killfiles to do.

I'm not an expert on Agent, but:
He works his crap in on almost every thread, and I'm guessing your

Well I had root canals on two teeth yesterday, so my mouth is a bit
sore today. I go back tomorrow so she can put a post in each of those
two teeth. Then she will temporarily mount my old bridge to them while
we wait for the lab to make a new bridge. Don't know for sure how long
that's going to take. Paid them $129 yesterday and will have to pay
another $325 tomorrow and the final $325 when they put the new on in.
My old one was in there for nearly 26 years, so if the new one lasts
that long I will be 92 years old and probably won't worry about it.
LOL
The old one broke off when I was biting into a baby carrot. See what I
get for snacking healthy. LOL
We are going to have our taxes figured next Monday and hope we will
come out as well as we did last year when we paid a small amount to
the IRS and got a couple hundred back from the state.
It's a balmy 30F here right now with a 19F windchill. Laurie just
wheeled the garbage and recycling out to the curb. She said, "This may
be a lot better than yesterday, but it still feels cold." Poor thing.
She knows I would have done it if she had asked, but she is so sweet

Chuck I sure hope all this bad ends for you soon. I have had two root canals
before but on separate occations. I didn't have any pain Thank God but my
daughter had on on Tuesday and she was a mess afterward. Very painful. Doc
said it was because she had three nerves to one tooth instead of only two
and it didn't show on the x-ray.
She had to take a loan out for 1000 dollars for it here. Goodness this stuff
is so expensive.
Anyways I hope you will be pain free soon with your new bridge.
Laurie is wonderful. You and she are fortunate to have one another.

Chuck, I'm using two anti-Chung filters:
Author: Andrew B. Chung MD/PhD
newsgroups: ({\,.+\,} and sci)
The last one cuts out anything with too much crossposting, and that
sci-med one he seems to include all the time.

that I think your dentist is quite reasonable. I can't imagine a root
canal, let alone two, being done as cheaply as that, or is that what you
pay after insurance pays? My last root canal cost a little over $700.00
total for one. Anyway, it's been cold in CA too, not that cold, but
still cold. I hope you do well on your taxes, and the cost of the teeth
won't hit you as hard. Take care, and regards to Laurie.

Luckily the only pain has been from the post root canal swelling,
which they said to expect. They wanted to do them both yesterday so
they will be ready for the posts tomorrow. I didn't mind so much, but
it meant we were at the College of Dentistry from a little before nine
until four yesterday afternoon. Now any way you look at it, that is a
long day for me in the dental chair and for Laurie in the waiting
room. She said she read all of a book she bought me for Christmas,
"How to Expand Love" by His Holiness the Dahli Lama.

That is one of the reasons we go to the College of Dentistry Clinics
at the University of Iowa. They charge approximately one third of
"normal" fees for such work to those of us that have insurance and are
above the poverty level. For those without insurance and low incomes
they use a sliding scale. Also, we know we are getting the best care
available. The down side is that each appointment takes 3-4 hours. It
is just over 25 miles one way down there.

purposely over pay throughout the year just so they can get a big

I still get lots of posts even though I never see any of chung's posts
unless they are quoted by someone else.
are you sure you are using the filter correctly?

I don't think that's the case. I think there are just very few posts. I
stopped KFing him a while ago because it seemed that his posts and those who
posted to him would die down after a few days. But recently that seemed not
to be the case and almost everything I saw was from him or someone replying
to him. For a while I was putting him in my KF about 2-3 times a day
because he kept changing addresses. Sadly it seems ASD is slowly dying.
Few on topic posts. |

Not really.
I probably have one of the choices in Filters checked wrong. I just
noticed it says "Entire field". Should that be address only or Name
only instead?

with chung use name only then if he morphs his address it won't
matter.

Yes, you might.
I use a later Agent version than you but IIRC, under your kill filter
settings, you have three choices. Delete, Mark Read, or Ignore thread.
You may have that last one ticked.
FWIW, I seldom use or recommend a kill filter when they can kill "on"
topic posts as well as "off". With Agent, there's usually a better
way.

guess I'm very fortunate, I'm gonna be 40 this year and I
only have 4 cavities ALL while I was pregnant and not one
since.. and since I was missing my 2 bottom teeth's perm
roots, I have a small bridge across my bottom teeth, but
never have had dental issues.. Don't recall what the bridge
cost, my folks paid for it when I was 15 LOL... it's been in
that long for me too.. I've got about 20yrs so far for mine,
dentist told me they'd last 15yrs, give or take.
Hope you're feeling better..
