"Every night before her husband went to bed, he would open a
prescription bottle of the muscle relaxant Soma and swallow the eight
or nine pills it took for him to fall asleep, said the woman. She
spoke to CNN on condition of anonymity because she wants to protect
her husband's identity and not embarrass his family.

The drugs arrived at their doorstep every week. She thought they were
being prescribed by a treating physician. Her husband had been in a
car accident and suffered back pain, and Soma was the one drug that
could relieve the aches.

She was wrong. The drugs were purchased online without a doctor's
visit. She says that her husband had become an addict -- and that the
Internet sites that sold him the drugs were his pushers."

all he had to do was get chung or some nutter crook like him to write
the script for him.

and what does this have to do with the Internet?

I can buy plenty of drugs without even going near the net.

In Baltimore, prescription drugs are sold between the Lex Market and the
VA hospital
Every city has a market

Now, I would NEVER buy drugs there, bit, with a bit of research, I have
found legit pharmacies on the net

Of course, I can even overdose on stuff I buy at Walgreens

It is the same as blaming the net because your spouse used it to stray,
instead of good old-fashioned screwing his secretary

you'll have to ask that of the original poster.

My take on it is that the reporter is exploiting a grieving widow for
a story and I am in agreement with your take on it.

The guy was addict, and that is what killed him.

did you bother reading the article?

SOMA is a real drug. It's a painkiller.

Here's another drug addict who died while using it:

It is an obvious question as to if anyone in the copyright office can
read when they let someone name a drug "soma", BUT, they let the modem
company register "US Robotics" as a trademark., and no one paid any
royalties to Clarke on broadcasting from synchronous satellites. so I
have long since ceased to be surprised

Ford's in his flivver and all's right with the world...
