| | | Another Binky Weigh-in As of today I'm at 379 for a total weight loss of 28 pounds.
That's 3 pounds from last week's weigh in.
Last week's weigh in was no change in weight, And I know where I
slipped up.
I'm 4 pounds from my december goal, but I'm revising it to be my
halloween goal- down to 375 pounds.

First goal: 375 by Christmas

WTG! It's great that you've met your goal early.

It might not have been a slip up that kept your weight the same. But
still, it's good to realize that if you make a mistake, you only have
to correct it. Doesn't it feel good to know that YOU can control your
weight, and that it's all YOUR decision?

How did you slip up? Did you eat too many calories?

Basically, yes. There were a couple days where I didn't track my
intake as tightly as I should have, and I ended up grazing over my
calorie budget. There was one trip through the drive through that
shouldn't have happened.
There were a couple of beers in there that didn't help things much.

The control thing really resonates with me, I'm glad you mentioned it.
For a long time I've had control issues. In my daily life there's so
little control I have over the things around me, and I've always had
kind of a poor attitude about that. I know it's caused me to come off
like a grouchy asshole to my friends and coworkers on more than one
occasion, and part of the whole new WOE is the understanding that the
one thing in our lives we have the ultimate control over is how we
treat our bodies and what goes into them, and being able to rejoice in
that fact. It's making it much easier to stick to healthy choices.

Part of being a FFID is thinking you cannot control your weight. It's
being a victim, like those poor pathetic slobs at fathappens.com. Once
you shed the victim mentality, shedding the weight becomes much easier.
Losing your status as obesity's victim also enables you to bounce back
from any poor choices you've made. It's "Gee, I ate stupidly the past
few days. Ok, tomorrow is another day, back to good choices." versus
"Gee, I ate stupidly the past few days. Oh, woe is me. I'll never be
thin. What's the number of that pizza take-out place again?"

That's empowerment, Binky. Congratulations.
Incidentally, you might find your temperment improves as your weight
drops. I find I am a lot more amiable now that I'm not carrying so much
weight and my health has improved.
