Default Food & Exercise -- 10/19/2006 (yesterday)

Yesterday we drove the rest of the way to our friends' home in
Minneapolis (starting out in Rockford, IL) -- arrived around 5:00 p.m.
We went out to dinner in the evening and then sat around drinking wine
-- another day of excessive -- though not outrageous -- vacation eating
:-).

Food:

* 10:00 (restaurant -- DH got a cold so he slept in and we got a late
start on the day): 12 oz. orange juice; waffle w/ 1 pat butter & 2 tbsp
syrup; 3 fried eggs (This restaurant has a sort of gimmick where if you
declare "I love eggs!" to your server you get an extra egg with your
meal, so of course I did :-).)
* 1:45 (Culver's restaurant -- like it the previous night so we stopped
another one): 1/2 a large burger w/ Swiss cheese & mushrooms --
couldn't finish it & still have dessert :-); small sundae w/ 1 scoop
frozen custard, 2 tbs caramel sauce, 1/2 oz. cashew nuts
* 7:45 (Outback restaurant): 7 oz. grilled salmon (big piece!); 3 oz.
steamed veggies
* 9:00 (Tom's house): 6 oz. wine

Totals: 1986 calories (117 from alcohol), 80g fat 936%), 178g carbs
(36%), 107g (22%)

Exercise: none (did some today, though :-) )

If it is not snowing and you like to walk..... There are some very nice
trails around the lakes on the western side of Minneapolis. Calhoun,
Harriet, Lake of the Isles.

I love the idea of doing this, but since we're visiting friends we'll
probably pretty much do what they choose. Maybe next visit we can plan
on this.

My favorite place to walk around down there is the Mall of America
Downtown Minneapolis is kind of cool too (Nicollet Ave.). Hope you get to
see some of that.

I've been to the mall and downtown before, so it won't matter too much
if we go there or not (though we are having dinner downtown tomorrow
evening, I know). Plans for the day seem indeterminate, though there's
talk of going to an exhibition at the Science Museum -- something
called Body World, which is apparently a whole bunch of preserved
cadavers showing different physiological phenomena. Sounds weird, but
Tom says it's fascinating. Tom and his wife both have workout plans
for the morning, and I'll probably go to the gym with one or the other
of them, assuming we wake up in time. (I've been watching "Walk the
Line" on TV so am up late. Tom bailed about halfway through and went
to bed :-).)
