Default Food & Exercise -- 11/5/2006

Spent the day at home until the evening, when we went to my monthly
meeting of my American Wine Society chapter. Went for a run in the
afternoon (usually go earlier, but had a headache all morning).

Food:

* 10:00 (home): 2 poached eggs on 1 slice whole wheat toast w/ 3
slices melted f/f cheese & 10g grated parmesan
* 12:00 (home): Tootsie Pop
* 1:30 (home): 4 oz. ground turkey breast burger on whole wheat
hamburger bun w/ 3 slices f/f cheese, dill pickle slices, & catsup
* 4:45 (home): energy bar
* 6:30 (wine tasting): 10 oz. wine; 3 oz. assorted cheeses; 4 small
squares foccacia; 4 crackers; 1 slice apple; a couple of grapes

Totals: 1667 calories (190 from wine), 48 g fat (26%), 139g
carbs (33%), 114g protein (27%)

Exercise:

3:30 -- 3 mile run

Enough with those dammed poached eggs! How many eggs do you eat a month?

FWIW, Chris, I'm behind you 100 percent on your egg consumption. Eggs are
good food! And your success with weight loss and maintenance speaks for
itself.

Hey, if it bothers you, skip the posts. I have no problem with eggs.
My cholesterol levels are good, and I've successfully lost well over
100 lbs. and kept it off for 2.5 years now. You certainly don't have
any right to tell me whether I can eat eggs or not!

Jeez.....if it bothers you so much don't read the damned posts about
the damned poached eggs!

I happen to love poached eggs but just don't take the time during the
week to fix them. They're a weekend food for me<g>

Yeah, until I retired they were a weekend food for me. Part of
celebrating retirement now for me is being able to curl up with my
poached eggs and my email every morning :-).

What's amazing is you managed to eat a tasty breakfast and go to a wine
tasting and still your calorie counts turned out healthy.

Well, generally when I go out my approach is to eat the things I enjoy
but to try to keep quantities modest. One thing that helps at the
wine tastings is that I'm not much of a bread eater (nor was I when
fat -- just don't care a lot about it). I eat a fair bit of cheese --
which is of course high in calories -- but I don't waste many on the
bread, which lots of people eat in great quantity.
