We had a fairly busy day today, once we got mobilized. We all went to
one of the local gyms to exercise for a while, then watched a bench
meet that was taking place there, then had lunch in the gym cafe.
After that we went to a Toys 'R Us to pick out some toys for the kids
from DH and me. (The 2 1/2 year old picked out his own -- with some
help. Their little girl is just 3 months old so of course Tom's wife
picked out her things.) We then stopped by a liquor store, as Tom's
wife wanted my help in learning to identify German rieslings. This
evening we (minus the kids, who had a sitter) went out to a fancy
seafood restaurant. It was a relatively healthy day until dinner,
which was excessive; I'm presently feeling over-stuffed.
Food:
* 6:45 (Tom's house): 1 cup blueberry almond cereal w/ skim milk
* 10:45 (driving to gym): energy breakfast bar
* 1:30 (gym cafe): tuna panina; handful of blueberries
* 5:00 (Tom's house): 1 oz. cheese curds
* 6:30 -- 8:30 (restaurant): a couple of bites of bread w/ butter;
spinach salad w/ chopped egg, croutons, and hot bacon dressing (very
rich -- didn't finish it); pan-seared sea scallops (ate 4 large ones
-- didn't finish the serving); au gratin potatoes (not a lot, but very
cheesy); chocolate cake w/ ice cream & fudge sauce (not large, but
again very rich); 2 glasses wine (riesling); 1 small glass port
Exercise:
11:30: 3-mile treadmill run {I was delighted to find that I could run
okay. My back is better today but not perfect, but running didn't
seem to irritate it.}
