I love cranberries, but they are only available here around
Thanksgiving and Christmas. What works really well is to buy a bunch,
wash, freeze, then divide up into smaller polly bags and store in the
freezer. They keep very nicely. Perfect in OATMEAL, as are frozen
blueberries. Actually, I mix half of each type of berry. Heat your
oatmeal, add sweetner of your choice and immediately place a portion
(1/2 cup plus another 1/8 th cup or so frozen blueberries or
cranberries works perfectly), stir and eat. The beauty of this is
there is absolutely no waiting. The hot oatmeal cools off and the
frozen cranberries or blueberries warm up just enough so they are just
slightly cool but stay crisp and delicious. I've tried other frozen
fruit, but strawberries especially become soggy on the outside and
stay frozen on the inside. The size of blueberries and cranberries is
perfect apparently for this symbiosis. Cranberries are one of the
highest concentrations of natural vitamin C. Kiwi is also very high.
Hey, there's NO FAT either although a serving of oats has 3 grams. dkw
