Yes, being away and eating out can be really bad. Many places serve
high-fat, high-sugar and high cal foods. That wasn't a very good diet!
It is so hard to undo the overeating so it is much much better to
avoid it in the first place or you will get discouraged very quickly.
Discipline! Your boyfriend needs to get on board and discourage you
from overeating too. dkw

Well Shau, The things you ate were a bit excessive indeed but were not
without merit. and very very good for you that you exercised!

I'm certainly one to forgive vacation splurges, since I do it often
myself. I don't think I've every in my life eaten 6 pieces of bread
in one sitting, though :-).

Chris (definitely not a carbaholic)

I don't know... For me, part of changing my way of eating and way of life
was learning how to eat within limits - not just during "normal" times, but
also during birthdays, holidays, and vacation. Not that I don't splurge,
but I don't count it as a free for all either. I'm not trying to be harsh,
just sharing my own thoughts.

And this will be a valuable learning experience. Those calories can
sneak up on you while you are having a good time. Finding a lower
calorie drink, say brandy or a dessert wine, would be a start. Only eat
3 pieces of bread, save another 300. Only eat half the waffle, or reduce
syrup or both, and you are down to maybe 2300.
