It's almost too sad to be funny. Yesterday we went on a 10 k
volksmarch through a huge rural area where they are slowly converting
the land from Texas hill country to subdivisions. People gotta live
somewhere, but I couldn't help thinking how much more beautiful the
land is before people put their homes up and "landscape" their yards,
in many cases cutting down huge live oat trees or native pecans
because they are too big or too close to the home....not to mention
all the displaced deer and other wildlife. Too many people almost
everywhere for the health of the earth and nature. dkw
