Default Happy....and Sad

Today we had a yard sale. My girls were selling outgrown toys and clothes.
I put out a big box of the clothes I wore 68 pounds ago. Wow! They were
the best sellers at the sale! I was very happy to see them going--now I
know I am done with being heavy, and will continue my journey to my goal
weight. But I was sad, too, looking at the ladies who were snapping up my
old clothes. I remember only too well what it felt like to be that heavy.
Six months ago that was me. If my blood pressure hadn't gone so out of
control, forcing a crisis, that might still be me. Right now, I'm going to
go for a long walk--just because I can. I hope those ladies eventually find
their way back, too.

Congratulations!

I've been debating auctioning some things on eBay myself. I've held off
on it because I had qualms about profiting from someone else's obesity.
I've donated my 'fat' clothes to Goodwill repeatedly, but that doesn't
trouble me since I don't make money on the transaction. But then again,
money is helpful when you need new clothes - and I need them because of
the weight loss.

Very nicely put. I hope we all find our way back to a healthy weight.

Thanks! I cannot tell you how much better I feel. I can run again. My
daughters and I have been doing 5Ks--not far, but still.... My goal at the
moment is 150 pounds. I'm 5ft 5in, so that is the top of my healthy range.
Once I get there (17 more pounds), we'll see. =c)

I didn't even think of it as profiting from someone else's problems until I
saw the ladies who were buying the clothes. Then I felt bad. (My girls
wanted to hold the sale to earn Christmas money) When we complete the sale
tomorrow, all the rest of the items are going to Goodwill.

Fortunately, I have not needed to buy new clothes, because I never let go of
my smaller clothes. I always intended to get back into them--but it took
the blood pressure scare to motivate me. It's like having a new, ready-made
wardrobe. (Except that I intend to get down below those clothes, too.)

Good for you!

I'm now fitting into the clothes I was wearing 15 years ago.
Unfortunately, I don't like the way I dressed 15 or 20 years ago -
typical dumpy-looking "big men's" stuff. I too want to get below this
point.

I'm looking forward to that! It got chilly here suddenly, and I had to pull
out some winter wear. Last winter's clothes didn't fit--but I can wear a
pair of medium sweat pants now. <big smile>

Thanks for the good thought about helping someone else on their way. =c)

None of us is responsible for the condition of others.

Last fall I had gained a little, and had to buy larger clothes.. and now
they are loose on me.. hehe
