Default has anyone heard of oligofructose?

My friend is trying to talk me into trying some sort of "diet chocolate".
It doesn't really have less calories, but has 14g of fiber per bar. The
fiber source is oligofructose, but I haven't found much info on it. How can
chocolate have that much fiber? I haven't tasted it yet, but I can only
imagine how gross it must be. I always have associated fiber with
roughage... I guess this stuff is sort of like chicory or inulin. How does
this stuff affect you compared to say a big bowl of fiber one cereal?

Never heard of it. I do have those Fiberful bars, that contain 6 grams
of fiber. You can get those as TJs. Have you tried them?

I guess I really don't like a lot of fake sweeteners. We really don't
know how they will affect us in 20 years.

I seem to not have a problem with fiber these days; when I want
something sweet, I'll have a couple pieces of dried fruit. Add that to
the whole grains I get, and I seem to be doing fine.

One is soluble fiber and the other is insoluble fiber is my guess.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dietary_fiber

Heres a readable link about what those olgios are:

My thought is that just because something says its chocolate (like
cocoa blah!) doesnt mean it will taste good :-)
