Default Low carb diet

I used to be on an LC diet. Some of us are wary of it but it seems to work.
What do you think? I've read some interesting cholesterol results where LDL
have gone down a lot which seems counter-intuitive.

Why does it seem counter intuitive?

You say you used to be on an LC diet? What made you quit? What kind
of results did you get? How did you feel? Did you get any diagnostic
testing during the process?

It just seemed weird to me to be eating so much meat and so little
vegetables. And I became vegatarian which I think though, came a few years
later. Thanks for asking.

It was a long time ago and I don't remember getting any tests except for the
ketostix, which measure urine for fat, I think but not sure. It seems
counter-intuitive to eat fats and lose fat from the body.

Carbohydrates don't neccessarily bring your LDL down, To bring down
your LDL, you have to eat saturated fats, whole grains (such as oat),
and fats that are high in short chain omega 3 acids such as walnuts,
and canola oil, and short chain omega 3 acids such as Salmon.
I know metas have satuarted fats, but in addition to meats what else
did you eat. Fruits and vegetables do have fiber but not you need both
the soluble and insoulble fiber to expel the LDL out of your body that
your body makes.
All diets are good. Carbohydarte diet work for rapid weight loss
because there is less glycogen production, and proteins are
theromgenics.
Tell us more about your diet, a typical day,, so we can understand how
your LDL came down. We can always learn from real experiences.

It doesn't sound like you followed the directions then. Low carbing
is about replacing the junk with veggies.

Which explains why you felt wierd about eating plenty of meat.

It only seems counter-intuitive because of all of the low-fat-only
propaganda over the years. Short term vs long term - short term
low fat gives better cholesterol numbers, long term low carb
does for most-but-not-all people.
