Over the xmas period, I decided to eat absolute rubbish for 3 weeks. I
ditched my normal diet of masses of fresh veg & fruit for 9 large boxes
of assorted (sweet) biscuits, boxes upon boxes of chocolates, and many
other "bad" foods such as cakes, microwave convenience foods, etc.
After about 10 days I noticed that my ears had changed in three ways -
Redness, itchiness and most importantly both had quiet large swelling
lumps at the lobe ends and also about half way up on the edges. I
think these may have been glands.
My question is - what was causing this - "overdose" of sugar intake, or
maybe as the biscuits were made from wheat flower, overdose of gluten?
I've gone back to my normal diet, and my ears have more or less
returned to normal, but where the swelling was present, the ear flesh
now looks a bit "haggard looking", with white "crazy-paving" style
streaks on them, almost like scarring!
