Default My Website is Finally Done...

One checkmark on my New Year's resolution list...

www.iweighedmorethanjared.com

Pretty basic for now until I can figure out some different things to try to
jazz it up a little...

I hope to add more to my calendar of events once I start sending out
informational packets to local schools, churches, & civic groups.

Matty, you're truly an inspiration! As a small suggestion for the web
site: you might want to indicate somewhere on the front page how much
you've lost -- or at least approximately. It doesn't really say any
thing about that -- just about how much you used to weigh. We all
know, but others who see the site might not.

Thanks, Chris! This is the feedback I was looking for. I updated the site
with the "official" weightloss total and added a FAQ section as well...

Hi Matty, lurker here. This website is amazing. *You* are amazing.
I'm still struggling, looking for help online, specifically for people
who've taken their lives back, and this website is powerful. Thanks so
much for sharing it.

I have a quick question if I may? Having looked through the site I see
in one of your albums a photo of you and your accountability partner.
What is that exactly and how did you and your partner meet? That sounds
like something I'd benefit from. No one in my family is as overweight
as I am (350+lbs.) and thus far I'm pretty much alone in what I'm doing.
Alone isn't good. It's too easy to talk myself out of doing the right
thing when the going gets rough.

Eleya,

Thanks for the feedback on the website! My aim for the website is to become
a resource of information to help others with their commitment to change
their lifestyle.

My accountability partner is actually my Mother-In-Law. She has been onboard
with my lifestyle change from the very beginning
(going with me to the surgery orientation seminar and asking questions). She
has been faithfully emailing me on a daily basis,
encouraging me when I need it and scolding me when I fall off the wagon.

A couple of suggestions on finding an accountability partner:

1) Someone who does not live with you. We tend to 'let our hair down' around
people
we live with, so the discipline tends to be lacking or very lax.

2) Someone faithful/committed. I was blessed to have someone willing to
email or call me on a
daily basis to get my calorie intake and exercise totals. Finding someone
willing to change their life as
well could help as you both could become accountable to eachother.

3) Someone honest. Being brutally honest at times is needed to keep you
accountable.
Sometimes you need that 'in your face' reality check when you start to
spiral off your weightloss path.
Helps you think twice about binging or reaching for that second slice of
cake...

While looking for an accountability partner, start posting your stats here
on the newsgroup.
Chris B. and a few others do that on a daily basis.

I use this group as an accountability group as well, posting my monthly
updates,
and I have an email accountability group that I email once a month.

You can do this, commitment is key. If you have the commitment, YOU WILL
SUCCEED!

Feel free to post questions or concerns, we are all here to support
one another (hence the name alt.SUPPORT.diet).

Take care and hope to see more posts from you!
