Default A Nice Quotation About Changing One's Life

I'm here in Minneapolis and have just checked in for the Life Time
Fitness conference. The welcome letter has a quotation I like at the
top, from James Belasco's Flight of the Buffalo: "Change is hard
because people overestimate the value of what they have and
underestimate the value of what they may gain by giving that up."
Given the book this is from, I'm sure the quotation is about changing
management/business strategies, but it also seems very applicable to
personal change such as weight loss, fitness, and lifestyle that goes
with it.

Well, there was an awesome start this morning -- a talk and film
presentation by Dick Hoyt. He's the guy who does marathons while
pushing his quadriplegic son in a wheelchair. He also does triathlons
-- swimming while towing son in a rubber boat behind him, biking with
a bike where the son is seated in front of him. They also biked
across the country this way. Dick is 67 years old, and does 30 or so
events a year -- amazing stuff. Makes me feel pretty dumb to put
myself up as an example of anything!

I like this quote. The conference sounds interesting too, from your
other post. Enjoy it.
