Default weekend strategy

Weekends are always my biggest struggle and this weekend is certianly due to
be a challenge.

My neice's baby shower is on Sunday. I have to work on Saturday. My BIL
called my DH today and asked if he wanted to join him on a ATV trip on
Sunday to escape the estrogen overload at the shower. They are leaving
about 7 am. Long story short, looks like we'll be heading to my sister's
Sat night, which usually isn't that bad but... I talking to my sister
today, what she has planned for food for the party is nothing but junk, from
cheesecake to chips to cookies, not a veggie in the house and probably not
any meat either.

I struggle on weekends and I struggle around sweets. My original plan for
this weekend was to go alone to my sister's Sunday afternoon just for the
party. (she lives 1.5 hrs drive from where I live). But now that we are
going up on Sat night, I have to be mentally prepared to handle Sunday so I
don't go overboard.

One of the worst things is to resist too much. Eat *** a bit*** of
everything, so you don't get frustrated. In my case anyway, frustration
makes me look for sugar, salt, bread and junk food.

Bring a veggie tray whether it's appropriate or not. It's not nice of a host
to serve nothing but junk. It's actually disrespectful for the host to fail
to serve any healtful foods to their guests. Stick to water, avoid soft
drinks.

Drink lots of water. eat as light as you can, bring a veggie tray or other
such healthy party tray if it is appropriate to do so. Try to get through
the day on minimum intake. And, if you go over, take it in stride.
