Hope you don't mind me replying when I am not dyslexic myself, but I
have taught dyslexic pupils for years.
In my experience, quite a few dyslexic kids were also diagnosed with
ADHD. However, I'm not sure it was actually any higher than the
population in general - it may just have been picked up more where
there was already an SEN diagnosis.
For many dyslexic people in education, the sheer effort they have to
put into overcoming learning difficulties to access the material means
that concentration levels are significantly higher than for some of
their classmates. This intensity means that more frequent breaks are
necessary; if these are not provided, there will be attention lapses.
