I changed from an undergrad course to a postgrad one, the grant I recieved
towards my fees was withdrawn, but I was still entitled to Disabled Students
Allowance, albeit with a lower ceiling.
Loans are not available unless you take out a carreer development loan,
however the terms of such a loan mean you start paying back at the end of
your course, and you are limited to the HSBC who are carrying out legalised
extortion IMO.

I wouldnt mind paying - but when most PG courses are at £3000 at my
uni and they charge around £8000 for a business related PG - it pisses
me off! |

There are various grant-awarding bodies, NGOs and charities in the UK
that will contribute towards PG studies, but it's really hard work
looking them all up and seeing what they will and won't fund. (I know
this because I've spent the last 2 years trying to get funding for my
Masters and PhD.)
My college library was not immensely helpful, but they did recommend a
list of (rather out-of-date) organisations to try. Yours might be
better? If you haven't tried them already, that is. I don't have a
list to hand, but I'm happy to look up my notes if you want - let me
know. Not sure how helpful they would be though, as I'm in social and
educational research rather than business.
Have you considered working and studying part-time? I've been doing
that for the last year, and it's actually been pretty good, especially
if you can find some work which is in the same area as your studies.
Incidentally, I believe the amount charged for university fees is
based to some extent on the amount of lectures, tutorials, etc. which
are provided as part of the course. E.g. my fees at the moment would
be £3000-ish (if I was full-time) which sounds cheap, but not when you
consider that I don't actually have any lectures or seminars provided
for my course (apart from a few optional ones, and meetings with my
supervisor), and I'm doing all the work by myself.

PS - I've noticed that some of the posters here don't like non-
dyslexic people taking part in the group. As I've spent a large amount
of my working life teaching and researching students with dyslexia
(with an aim to improving provision in the UK) I find this group
interesting and informative to read. However, I could stop posting
comments if people find it annoying? |

i personaly don't have a problem with you posting. consdering this group
is extremely low traffic more posters the better and since you seem to
know what your talking about. i think you do the group more good than
any inforamtion it can give you.
