Default biopsy results

Just heard from my new ob/gyn...the one who performed the endometrial biopsy
on me a week ago. The results are in and it's normal. He said the lining
looks healthy now, other than being extremely thin (explains why he had
difficulty getting a sample), which indicates I'm very near menopause, or
possibly have reached it already. Anyway, it's good news. He said he sees no
need for follow-up w/ medication, which makes me extremely happy and
relieved. No more of that nasty provera. Yay! He said he should see me again
in 6 mos. and otherwise I should go about my life and try to be happy. <g>

Feeling a lot better lately too, and sleeping better. I have an appt. to
consult with a psychiatrist in a couple of weeks to see what I should do
about continuing the A/D. I don't know if I'm less depressed now due to the
A/D I'm on, or being off the provera, or my hormones calming down...or some
other factor.

Really!! Thanks to all who replied, and thanks to everyone here who
encouraged me/urged me to get a second opinion. Had I not done so and gone
only by the opinion of my former ob/gyn, she would've had me go on that
awful provera for who knows how long? And I was so miserable on that stuff.

I've officially changed doctors. The location is inconvenient and the
parking is lousy, but what the hey, you know? I won't be going in that often
and a good doctor is worth some inconvenience. He's nice too. When he was
getting the sample, I squirmed for a couple of seconds in a moment of
discomfort. He said, "Hang on, we're almost done" and when it was over, he
apologized for having to hurt me. It wasn't really that bad, but I thought
it was sweet that he apologized.

Moral of the story: it pays to get a second opinion.

Kimmy

I'm really glad you ditched that other doctor. Bet you're thinking "Why did
I wait so long"!
