| | | More News I have an opportunity to get away to West Palm Beach (Fla.) to stay for a
long weekend or a few days, next month maybe, in a vacation apartment on the
ocean (actual view of the ocean from apartment, w/ an open-air terrace) w/ a
long beach to walk on and restaurants and night clubs within walking
distance. Housing is free. I'd have to pay only for airfare and maybe car
rental...and meals, of course.
The sad news is, DH says there's no way he can get the time off while the
offer is good to go w/ me. On the plus side, he said he's happy to hold down
the fort here, do what's necessary, so that I can go. My birthday is in
about a month and he says this can be my birthday present. I have two
girlfriends who are interested in going, so I could go with one of them, or
I could go alone. In another thread of mine, someone suggested it might help
me to get away for a while if I can't get DH to make time to do things w/
me.
What does anyone think? Should I do it? Or would that be like running away
from my problems?

Jeez, I'd go! - with a gf or two, if she/they can go, too. If they can't,
I'd go on my own & enjoy the mini-vacation!

Of course you should do it. And you should take me with you.
Seriously, though, you're not running away from your problems, you're
taking a break. If you were running away you wouldn't be planning on
coming back.

Absolutely GO! You're not "running away", you're "taking a step
back from" your problems.
Take a girlfriend with you for company, if you can, if you have
one with similar tastes in activities.

GO! GO! GO!
A mini vacation with good friends will rejuvenate you. Better than therapy.
I do this regularly and it's great, it's a whole different type of fun with
girlfriends.You'll have a blast.
