Default My glass is half full

Three weeks into my 56th year, and I'm bleeding again. I haven't missed
any periods (at least, I think I haven't) and so I'm probably not even in
sight of the end. I may outlast sue mullen. (Are you out there, sue?)

If I think of the women who are missing 6-8 periods in a row only to
start again, I'm a bit envious. I know they're pissed when they start
again, and I understand why, but still.

But then I think of the women who are hemorrhaging for six weeks at a
time, and on balance, I have to say that I'm pretty lucky. Since the UAE
I don't bleed much (hence not being quite sure that I haven't skipped a
period) and these periods aren't particularly inconvenient. In fact, it
took two years after the UAE to use up the supplies I had already laid in
for the next period.

So all in all, I can't complain. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. :-)

You never know, those periods may stop suddenly, unusual but it does
happen.Does late menopause run in the family?

Yeah, those missing months are a reprieve but when they do come back, boy
does it *#!&#! one off to be so far yet back to square one.

Beats me. My mother never spoke of it, my older sister is pretending
she's too young for such things, and my younger sister died at 42.

Not that family history counts for anything anyway, at least as far as
meno is concerned.

Thank you for reminding me to count my blessings -- at least my periods are
rare!

It's a mixed blessing, innit? You don't want hot flashes, but you know
that they signal the beginning of the end.

Congrats on the skip.
