Just understand that "they" are the drug sellers. There is absolutely
no evidence that medicating to lower numbers reduces mortality from CVD
at all, and Crestor has harmed so many people there have been calls to
take it off the market. It harms kidneys and according to your
microalbumin, yours are already hurting badly.

It's not okay, I'm sorry. Microalbumin are small protein particles. It
means your blood glucose has been so high for so long that your kidneys
have sustained, and are continuing to accumulate damage. This is your
chance to reverse the march toward dialysis. You're going to have to
reconsider your commitment to eating too many carbs if you want to
reverse the damage, and it can be done. I did it.

The risk of heart attack begin to rise at every A1c point above 4.6%.
6.1% is associated with a much higher risk of DM complications and even
the ADA recommends lower than that, and their standards aren't
considered stringent enough by the world science community. In fact,
Medline is full of citations of peripheral neuropathy, retinopathy, and
kidney damage in people the ADA only calls "pre diabetic."
The something else you might consider trying is less carbs (will drop
your triglycerides like a rock) and more exercise, if you're not getting
any/enough. Learning to eat low carb is a lot less grueling than living
with kidney failure, which is a slow, miserable, torturous path to a
hellish end.
