| | | Official Takes Risks Warning on Pet Drug I didn't say OT because Wyeth's fight to keep it's share of the
estrogen market is mentioned as a parallel example to this animal drug
story.
This is a very good weekend read imo -- and scary. http://www.cumberlink.com/articles/2.../d8ol79og0.txt

Damn damn damn! In 2003 or 2004 (can't pinpoint it) my dad took
his dog to the vet. She got a heartworm injection. I don't know
what drug. She died on the back seat on the way home. She's not
even counted in the stats. My dad just sucked it up and buried her.
My mother told me "If it had been me i'd have turned the car right
back around and confronted them. But i have to let him do it his way."
Wyeth. Lord God, can we stop the killing without shutting them down?

Wow. We need more Victoria Hampshires. No wonder the FDA seems
to be bumbling through this pet food contamination debacle -
everyone there must have one eye on his or her ass.

Why, pray tell, would you worry about shutting Wyeth down?
Would you be willing to sacrifice a breast, an ovary, or your life so
that their stock price might tick up a fraction of a point?
Are there enough lampposts in DC to bear the weight of the wholly
owned FDA bureaucrats?

Don't forget that the pet food companies put most of the vets in the US
through vet school. No way those vets aren't biased toward them.
