Default Okay, so I messed up

OB/GYN told me LMP was April 14th. I looked at my palm pilot from
last year and it says May 19th. Guess what I got yesterday?
Yep....full blown period. GYN told me that since I was considered
meno, if I had any bleeding, to let her know. Okay, since lmp was in
May, that would make this one 13 months later. Would that fall into
the category of being problematic and worth calling her to
investigate?

What does breakthrough or having another period sometimes indicate?
Is it something to worry about? My breasts have been sore for 3 weeks
and I called doc to see if that's normal and she told me to tell me
endo, who I see tomorrow. My endo has been tweeking my synthroid
(thyca issues) so I wonder if this is messing up periods.

Good god, it's a full time to worry/wonder about what causes
what!!!!!!!! I have so much on my plate right now and I thought I was
done with PERIODS. But at least I know why I've had the breast
soreness! IT felt like pregnancy breasts!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks :-)

Hormone levels can definitely still fluctuate post-meno. The sore breasts
deal sound like a PMS thing-y to me, esp. comnsidering they were followed by
a period. My gyn says women well into post-meno can still get full-blown
periods. And my guess is that thyroid hormones can interact w/reproductive
hormones, throwing them 'off'. OTOH, the rule of thumb is to get it checked
out anyway, once past the 12 month marker. I agree, a PITA, & one more
thing to - prob. unnecessarily - worry about.

I forget how old you are. If you're under 50, you're not considered
fully menopausal until two years after LMP. Still, I wouldn't think 13
months as opposed to 12 for an over-50 would be much to worry about.
It's not like this is an exact science.

Thyroid issues can certainly mess things up, and your endo will have had
experience of this. But sometimes it's just one last hiccup, er, I mean,
hurrah for an ovary. Specially since you had the other PMS sign.

IMO, definitely something to ask the endo about, but definitely something
*not* to worry about.

I just turned 54 a few weeks ago. That makes sense that 13 months is
not exactly getting blown out of the water :-)

Yeah, hurrah my ass LOL! But it is comforting to know why I've felt
more uptight than usual this month...sensitive, emotional and more
impatient than my normal impatience :-)

This sounds sensible as does your post Cathy. Thanks to both of you.
I just love this bloody group. Pun intended :-)

I think you should revel in the feelings. Store them up in your memory.
Say to yourself, this is the last time I'll be feeling this way -
forever!

Oops, no wait a minute, don't do that. No sense in tempting fate. :-p

And we love the bloody hell out of you, too. ;-)
