Default OT: The cats on 31 December >^..^<

So how is everyone planning to spend their New Year's Eve? My plans are
to stay home. Too many drunk drivers (like I used to be) out there.
After sundown the illegal fireworks will start going off, stressing the
cats. They need me in the apartment to reassure them. Around midnight
the guns come out, with shots fired into the air and a hail of spent
bullets dropping from the sky. And more fireworks.

So I'll be at home, listening to "classical" music on KUSC-FM from 7 PM
onwards. One of my AA friends does my apartment cleaning, and she has
spiffed up my bedroom. I now have black film over the windows, to
improve sleep. Light comes from a single 25 watt red bulb. Yes, The Cat
House now has a Red Light District.

That's what I like about having cats. I'd rather be here with them
than anywhere else.

Staying home with Hubster and dogs. Watched a video, "Living
with Wolves" (wonderful!), maybe dig out the scrabble board and
have another glass of wine, looking out at the 14" of snow we had
Thurs-Sat and feeling very snug indoors, doubtful that we will
still be up when the year turns.

Happy New Year, all!

and asllep by 11 PM. All 3 cats were with me. Nice
