| | | OT - light a candle Today, Bristol-Myers Squibb, the pharmaceutical monolith that charges
nearly $1,000 for a 30 day supply of one of its HIV/AIDS medications,
is donating $1 to the National AIDS Fund for each person who simply
visits their website and "virtually lights a candle."
Please take a minute to light a candle. Thank you. www.lighttounite.org

What a nice quiet place. It seems lately some of these sites have
flashy graphics and loud music. Very nice.

So there's no point in continuing to go light it? They've already maxed
out their donation?

I think those things are generally just PR. They're going to make a
donation to look good, so they make one of those webpages so people will
feel involved and bond with them and then buy their products. Yeah, I'm
cynical.

Since they make prescription drugs, do we have a choice in purchasing
their products? I mean, the doctors prescribe them....I don't know
what company makes my drugs. Most of mine are generic.
