ROFL!
My parents tell a story about our neighbors when i was a toddler.
Husband constantly said "Mother never- [did it this way or that way]"
to his wife. He started it at dinner one night and she said, "Did your
mother ever do THIS?" and upended the stew on his head. My folks
got this story direct from the wife next day: "And, honey, i took
that bowl and..." I remember this couple and i believe it. They actually
had a real good kind of bicker-y marriage and he never hauled out
that *particular* line again.
