Default OT: Music videos via Google search Attn Eva

I don't know how much connection speed matters, since the workstation
I use is cable modem, but if you have not looked for a while under
Google/Video search, try something in music less obvious than Paris
Hilton, etc. If you just type in the artist, some of the hits will be
covers, but it's easy to find old TV footage from the 50's and 60's.

For example:

Richard and Mimi Baez Farina

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yado-3WQP4A

Buddy Holly

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...arch&plindex=3

The latter features ballroom dancing to Peggy Sue, must be seen to be
believed -- unless you are older than I am (55) and can remember
this.

and a haunting Not Fade Away cover by Bon Jovi, 1997:

I did that recently with Linda Ronstadt. Which led to other videos with
Emmylou Harris, which led to... well, you get the idea. :-)

Somebody recorded this - maybe Peter, Paul and Mary? I definitely
remember singing along with somebody.

Aww, they really did have a hard time figuring out how to present rock
'n' roll, didn't they? That unwillingness to just show the musicians and
let people pay attention to the music has translated itself now into boy
bands where no instruments are played, and singers who can only sing if
they're slutting themselves around the stage.

I like the song Peggy Sue. I have an aunt that everybody in the family
calls 'Peggy' but whose husband always called her 'Peggy Sue'. You just
knew that he put the 'pretty pretty pretty pretty' in front when they
were alone. :-)

about 1967. This was on vinyl and then CD. I think Joan Baez, Mimi's
sister, might have covered it too, not sure.
