BTW, ruth, I have some extra wrapping I need done - are you busy?

Seriously, you know the only reason you have to wrap is because you're
gifting in the first place. No good deed goes unpunished.

8~) Tell me about it!

Back in my office-days, i used to hire a coworker to do my
wrapping, for ten bucks. I'd bring in a big tote bag
containing my gifts-to-give, some rolls of paper and ribbon.
Little sticky notes on everything so i could ID them afterward
and write the tags. I miss that!

Congrats! :-)

I'm only about halfway through w/ the wrapping. I don't exactly hate it,
but I'm so ridiculously detail-oriented that it takes me for-ev-er.

Being sick w/those stupid mega-URIs all of November, then still not really
with it energy-wise for quite a while in December (got another cold from the
kids in school just as those other URIs were finally on the wane) screwed me
up, time-wise, getting ready for Xmas. Put me behind 2 - 3 weeks. All this
week I've been baking & wrapping at night, juggling that stuff w/regular
stuff like laundry & correcting papers, etc. By this time I'm usually
packaging up the cookies/pastries. Instead of which I'm not quite done,
although cut back a lot this year. Corrected some papers tonight, then
baked sugar cut-outs & just finished w/those, & want to finish last set of
papers tonight, then will decorate cut-outs tomorrow. And want to make at
least one more recipe - some candy. By Sunday need to pack them up! Lesson
plans will have to be worked on later sometime...

Am also moving back to my regular classroom now from the temporary one I've
been in since the end of Oct. - had to be packed up re: temp room by the
time I left school today. They're supposed to move all of the furniture,
sans the kids desks/chairs & the teacher's desk/chair, either over the break
or early on the Tues. we're back in school after Xmas break or early on that
Tues. morning, then move those last bits after the kids leave school that
day. I'll set up in my regular room that day, while a sub teaches in the
now-stripped-virtually-bare temp. room. Between that & getting ready for
Xmas (plus good ol' insomnia, plus still not quite well), I'm beat.

Sorry - bit of a rant. ;-)

I don't mind wrapping - but I need to find oooh, 30 minutes,
when hubby is out of the house before I can finish mine.

Wow! I'm glad you're feeling better - are you back to normal
yet? Some URIs can drag you down for a long time, even after
you're not experiencing active symptoms.

A friend who was going to come over tomorrow for a holiday
barbecue just stopped by - her husband's got bronchitis, so they
will have to postpone. There's something really nasty going
around here. I sent her home with one of the pumpkin pies I'd
baked - my only real gesture towards the holiday tradition (Call
me Scrooge.)

Well, stop in W&W for some wassail tonight, put your feet up and
wail all you want!

A lot better, thanks, but not quite back to normal - symptoms & enenrgy.
Went to ENT a little over a week ago - he sent scope down nose into throat
to see larynx, which at that point was still swollen from URI #1, but no
nasty looking thingies were apparent.

Ah, that's too bad, & lousy timing for it to show up. Yeah, something nasty
around here, too - obviously. A lot of people w/ laryngitis or sinus
infections which are enough to keep many of them home from work.

But pumpkin pie is yummy, Scrooge! ;-P

I'm finally heading over there! :-) Mmmmm..... sounds good. Thought I was
done w/ Xmas & house stuff a while ago, then realized I had to pack up gifts
for where each batch is going - whether to sister's, or to parents'. Plus
laundry was clean & dry, but needed to be folded, etc. Oh - need to leave a
Post-it for myself on the breakfast nook table, to not forget cookies in the
refrigerator, before heading out door tomorrow! Soon as that's done - W&W
relaxation time! :-)

I do bags and pre-designed boxes and put bows on them..it is so much
easier..With three kids I figured I served my wrapping time as they were
growing I even let companies do the gift wrapping when I order
online..some are so much prettier than mine...Did I mention I have gotten
lazier with age..LOL.

Gosh..You Bake??? I stopped baking when I was diagnosed with Diabetes. Now
if my neighbors would quit dropping off their baked goods with their
cards...although my husband appreciates their baking skills If we have
company for Christmas I will buy some sweets at Sees..and pick up some quick
breads from local bakeries. I was behind in my shopping because I came down
with a cold..throat cough thingy..and it lasted for three weeks. Since my
arthritic knees have worsened I have done the majority of shopping
on-line..but this year I was so behind we had to go downtown and fight the
masses. Thank Goodness my hubby is an instructor at the local Community
College and he get allot of time off for Christmas Break.(Or do they call it
Winter Break now? I am never politically correct) He could do some of the
running for me...those scooters at the Mall started looking mighty
good...LOL.. All in All Christmas turned out really nice and everybody
liked their gifts and gift cards...and really enjoyed Christmas Dinner...I
just enjoyed having part of the family with us. My son in NC called and he
and they girls hollered Merry Christmas to us I was exhausted and swore I
would not go anywhere for two weeks...I had so much more energy in my
younger years
