Default A Question for you ladies? About men too. Help?!

More than ever I am feelings the mood swings and the dreaded full blown
night sweats hot flashes at night. I am officially gong thru the dreaded
menopause full throttle. It's been along time coming, thought I'd be
prepared for this. NOT!

It started 3 weeks ago. I am NOT taking the HRT w/s? meds my Doc. has
given me, as I a trying the natural things such as Black Cohosh and Wild
yam cream. Any other natural aids anyone can suggest would be greatly
appreciated.

Oh geez, my poor b/f, even his body heat makes me so unbearably hot and
uncomfortable at night when sleeping. Then I freeze to death and need
his body heat and snuggles. This is so crazy difficult. I don't want
this to harm our relationship. :-( We've been together for well over 15
years.

My question is what do you think men go thru, while us ladies are in
what seems like torture?! My b/f is telling me he is going thru
menopause ~jokes about it~ yea know the joke thing guyz say.."why do
you think they call it MENopause"? too, and he's moody, depressed, gets
insomnia, but I notice he is changing in the sense where he wants change
his life style patterns like be around younger people, like our kids
ages and run around, sports up the ying yang that do not involve us,
NOPE he hasn't gotten a new red sports car yet, LOL. But ya know the
change of life thing men go thru? Yikes.
I'm not sure I know how to handle this new change?! I don't think he
does either. HELP!

He DID tell me he gave his friends wife a ride home the other day from a
Resort, and how pretty and blonde she was with a perfect body????? He
normally would never talk like that. UH-OH..........

Too bad we are going thru this at the same time! Or is it better?
Obviously I have no clue. Kinda scary. :-( Any advice or similar
storys to share?

The sensitive girl and the sensitive guy.

I had a male friend who was a few years older than me. At the time I was in
my 40's. Am 50 now. He used to tell me that he felt men had "periods"
every month because he would have mood swings, food cravings, etc. at about
the same time each month.

I guess I am lucky. I do not have too much of the dreaded stuff that can
come with periods. Have never had mood swings, weight gain, usually no food
cravings (occasionally chocolate), few cramps. OTOH, it can be tricky
because my periods aren't always regular. I will have long stretches where
they are like clockwork and then they will come early or late. So with no
warning signs, I have to be prepared at all times. I can have heavy
periods.

I have tried the yam cream and really can't see that it did anything for me
one way or the other. But certainly didn't hurt. I do take black cohosh.
So far no symptoms of menopause other than one missed period. So maybe it
is helping.

It's the day that a man looks at himself totally naked in the mirror,
and realizes that his Plato's Retreat days of matching (or breaking)
Larry Levinson's record of 15 ejaculations in 13 hours are over.

What help does he need? Younger and hot-to-trot women will only last as
long as he can. The testosterone boost they may give him is only
temporary. Ask Bill Clinton about that. To quote Lynn Snowden, "If a guy
is going to cheat, a guy is going to cheat. It doesn't matter if he's 20
or 70. A rat is a rat."

It sounds to me like neither of you quite know how to handle the fact
that Old AgeŽ is staring you in the face(s) and there's no turning back.
He wants to ignore the clock and you have a body that's distracting you.

I am single and have no practical or personal advice to give, except
that it seems to me that you two need to find a way to do this together.
So the traditional "We need to talk" may be in order, or even a romantic
retreat to help you discover new ways to be together as you age. And
also finding a way to laugh about it all. You'll both need that.

You're welcome, and name that tune. Who is the artist and name of the
song in your post? It sounds very familiar.
