Question Skin condition

Hi, I am new to this forum and I would llike some knowledge from one of you fine folks.
I have a skin problem that affects my face, hands and arms from elbows down.
I will get big purple spots on my skin that do not hurt, but look like bruises. Sometimes they show up after a scratch, but I swear sometimes I think they come from no where.
I take Zoloft and that is the only medicine I take.
These purple patches are unsightly and I would love to know what causes them and how to prevent them.
Thanks, Fran
