Default Slightly OT - Question about natural diuretics

I am under a doctor's care for high blood pressure. With meds
(Diovan) and weight loss I have it well under control.

My doctor suggested I also add an OTC or natural diuretic to help with
my water retention as needed.

I already drink several glasses of unsweetened herbal teas and fruit.
She suggested I add a squeeze of lemon to my tea.

Can anyone recommend any other diuretics I could try?

Thanks.

Two natural diuretics I know of are cranberry juice and asparagus.

Caffeine. OTOH, it may increase bp - I think the jury may be out on that
one.

I don't have a brand offhand because I no longer take OTC ones except on a
very occasional basis. I think what I have is Aqua Ban. I bought it but
never took it. When I used to take them, I used something that was
dandelion based, per my Dr.

Dandelion leaves. You can have them as a tea drink or use the young leaves
in a salad - very popular in France. Slightly bitter tasting but has the
required effect. It's not for nothing they are know in French as "wet the
bed"!!

We called them "Pee-the-Bed" in Scotland as kids too.

I loved the names "Pee-in-bed" and "wet the bed". That's tells me
dandelion is the way to "go".

Thanks to your advice, I did more research and bought the following:

Irwin Naturals, Bloat-Away

http://tinyurl.com/yzndcds

It contains dandelion, as well as potassium, uva-ursi, cornsilk,
cranberry, etc.
