Default Strontium Citrate Clinical Trial Still Recruiting

The researchers are seeking post-menopausal women who are at least one
year but less than five years past their last menstrual period to
participate in a new clinical trial on strontium citrate. For more
information, see www.strontiumforbones.blogspot.com.

What for? Post-menopausal women aren't sick because they're
post-menopausal.

What's the drug supposed to treat?

I'm guessing bone loss:

If effective, it could actually be a safe, cheap, OTC way of self
treating osteoporosis in a way that supports normal endocrine function
instead of promoting osteonecrosis of the jaw by deregulating normal
bone metabolism.

Oh, I figured that, too. I was just challenging her assumption that
there's necessarily something wrong with post-menopausal women simply
because they're post-menopausal.

I didn't get that inference; only that they're looking for the age group
most likely to have osteoporosis to test it on.

Since some do develop it and are being fed drugs that cause damage to
normal endocrine function or develop horrendously painful advanced
osteoporosis like my friend's mother, I think it'd be great if a cheap,
easy to get and safe tx turns out to be effective for those who do have
probs.
