I have returned from my brief trip to Seattle. As I mentioned before,
the purpose was to visit my Mother, whose Alzheimer's is slowly
progressing. But not to the point (yet) of permenant confinement. She
is in an assisted living home, and goes out on daily trips. Once a
week my Sister takes her to the hairdressers and to the Library.
So I was able to have sevral days of Mother-Son bonding, to tell her
how much I loved her.
While I did miss the cats, my Sister and her Husband do have two dogs,
very affectionate dogs always wanting attention and petting, which I
did my best to supply, like a good Franciscan Penitent should.
The drive up was a slow affair, as I took the scenic backroads of
California, including State Highway 89 from start to finish. A half
day was spent at Crater Lake national park, where I bought a Lifetime
Pass for Seniors at $10.00, a bargain.
So back home, and now have some more paperwork to do concerning my
retirement income. Looking sparse, but you save soooo much money when
you don't have a TV set or a DVD player. I should do OK, barring a
major medical problem. Alzheimer's, for example.
I called the Jury Duty hot line, and was informed I did not have to
come in tomorrow, 19 October. Is it OK to mention the words "Jury
Nullification" during the questioning period?
Hope all was well with you while I was gone. I will not be trying to
catch up on back postings, no time. AA tonight, plus devotions, litter
box maintenance, etc etc
