Default Ah crap

I'm bitter. Turning another year older and I'm bitter.
I would like to own some land with alot of bamboo where I would carve
shakuhachis.

On a different note, I was turned on to an author who translated
Genesis from the original (old and dead) Hebrew. Shabaz Britten Best
is his name. It's listed on yahoo, but they don't have either of his
books in print. Guess that rules out the chance for his work on audio
tape.
Makes you wonder though about what could be lost over the years from
one language translation to the next. BUT I guess nothing should be
taken literally and everyone has their own interpretation. It's what
makes life interesting.

I really should go to sleep.

Oh, happy birthday I guess, or it sounds like you need consolation for
it. Yeah, I am turning another year older next month. Not looking
forward to it. I swear this last year went by faster than any other
year of my life... it seemed more like a few months.

Well.

The translation sounds interesting.

The trick is to live long enough for medical technology to cheat the aging
process. I may not make it, but you have much better odds.

I'm guessing that it will take about 20 to 30 years for computers to be
smarter than people. At that point, there should be an explosion of
technology of all kinds.

If medical problems can all be solved, the life expectancy goes up to about
1000 to 2000 years. Deaths would be by misadventure. (hit by truck,
murder, war, tsunami, etc.)

They've already found the gene to turn off the aging process. The
catch is the same gene controls things like mutant cells - cancer
kicks into high gear when this gene is turned off.
Exciting things happening for sure.

Hi Erik...

once found this on my travels...

It's the Lords Prayer translated from Aramaic into English,
rather than the traditional route of Aramaic to Greek to Latin to English

Seems to have a eastern tang....happy birthday

O cosmic Birther of all radiance and vibration!
Soften the ground of our being and
carve out a space within us where
Your Presence can abide.

Fill us with your creativity so that we
may be empowered to bear the fruit
of your mission.

Let each of our actions bear fruit in
accordance with our desire.
Endow us with the wisdom to produce
and share what each being needs to grow and flourish.
Untie the tangled threads of destiny that
bind us, as we release others from the
entanglement of past mistakes.

Do not let us be seduced by that which would
divert us from our true purpose, but illuminate
the opportunities of the present moment.

For you are the round and the fruitful vision,
the birth-power and fulfillment,
as all is gathered and made whole once again

That is part of it. Telomeres vs. Telomerase.
I believe the prostate produces telomerase to protect sperm cells, thus the
high rate of prostate cancer....

There is also something called "AGE" -it stands for something like
accumulated glycation endproducts. Basically, it is sugars causing
irreversible cell damage.

Extending lifespan will not be easy, but I think it can be done.

Sounds like Jesus has the communist manifesto in there.

It leads to the point that the Bible has been translated ALOT. There
are alot of Christians that take the Bible so literally. Really all
we can do is make our own interpretation and hope for the best.
Cool translation by the way.
