Default back to ACE rant

I just dont know what to do,ive struggled with homelessness, not being
able to hold down a job, ect. The thing is that dont know where to
go,i was at a shelter in Salt Lake City, UT but i moved cause this
place had a major drug problem and every time i stepped outside to get
food or anything i was bothered by dumb people (of all races) sayin
what u need, crack, heroin, vicoden, we will set you up for anything.
I was threated to be knifed one day and decided i had enough of that
shit, and moved back to idaho with my parents. I dont like living
here cause my dad just labels me as a nut job and treats me like
shit. where is a good place to be homeless?? please anyone I need to
find a good place where its warm.. the other thing about salt lake
city is that it is freezing cold at night and theres been at least 40
people that died due to hypothermia, weathering... cause there was
either no room in the shelter or they had nothing to sleep with. The
Road Home is what the shelter is called, its a bitch out there in the
world these days, and i know this from expirence. On the bright side
of living in salt lake city, is that food stamps are easy to get and
medicade is even easier to get... and its easy to get food every day
at the catholic cathedral. thanks for reading. i wish my SSI wasnt
denied again otherwise i would be set.

WOW. I live in Utah. I knew that the park downtown has problems, but I
didn't realize it was so bad. I've heard of a stabbing down there.

Utah has a major problem with meth, and they are trying to fix that, but
at the wrong end I suspect.

OMG I've heard that the shelters are full, and the churches downtown
try to help some people. Unfortunately I don't believe the largest
church here does as much. The Mormon/LDS church could do much more.
They rake in billions every year that is tax exempt AFAIK.

I've heard of The Road Home. They should get more support I think. I
remember that some homeless people practically live at the library
downtown. I wish I could somehow change the world.

In the old testament it was written not to pick the fields clean,
because the homeless and poor should be able to eat the remains. This
has gone unnoticed in the US.

It's also written to not charge your countrymen interest, but again the
US has become indifferent.

Whether you believe in God and/or the bible I think we can all agree
that people suffering and dying on the streets is not right, and being
indifferent to the suffering is a problem.

Soon the suffering I think will result in a great deal of hatred, and
this country may go down in flames, or it may change for the better.
I'm hoping for change.

Take care, and I hope things go better for you,

George

There is no good place to be homeless. I was homeless in Phoenix Az
and had the same problems with crack heads that you did. Sure I could
sleep anywhere the cops couldn't see me, but it still is hell living
out there. I know living with your parents is not the best, but it
beats the streets IMO.
