WOW. I live in Utah. I knew that the park downtown has problems, but I
didn't realize it was so bad. I've heard of a stabbing down there.
Utah has a major problem with meth, and they are trying to fix that, but
at the wrong end I suspect.

OMG

I've heard that the shelters are full, and the churches downtown
try to help some people. Unfortunately I don't believe the largest
church here does as much. The Mormon/LDS church could do much more.
They rake in billions every year that is tax exempt AFAIK.

I've heard of The Road Home. They should get more support I think. I
remember that some homeless people practically live at the library
downtown. I wish I could somehow change the world.
In the old testament it was written not to pick the fields clean,
because the homeless and poor should be able to eat the remains. This
has gone unnoticed in the US.
It's also written to not charge your countrymen interest, but again the
US has become indifferent.
Whether you believe in God and/or the bible I think we can all agree
that people suffering and dying on the streets is not right, and being
indifferent to the suffering is a problem.
Soon the suffering I think will result in a great deal of hatred, and
this country may go down in flames, or it may change for the better.
I'm hoping for change.
Take care, and I hope things go better for you,
George
