I gave up writing some time ago. In fact, I no longer even have copies of my
stories. But they're searchable under Google Groups. Just search for "story
Miki Kocic" and you'll come up with a number of them.

O Henry is entertaining, yes. I used to have an old green Octopus volume of
his short stories.

You are not an asshole! Christ loves you and knows that there is
no one in the universe like you. Christ has a purpose for you, to be a
son of the King, and that's a great person.
In Suzette Elgin's "Art of Verbal Self Defense" she outlined that
there are two strategic modes, "computer mode" and "leveling"; and,
there are two unstrategic modes, "blamer" mode, and PLACATING.
It was later pointed out to her that there was a fifth mode,
"intimidation" mode. Any guy can wear a black shirt with a white tie and
talk like Joe Pecci. It's intimidating.
Suzette said, "No that's blamer mode!".
The response to that defensive denial was, "No, that is to be
blamed".
Anyway, if you put yourself down, any evil person can jump on you
and put you down further. Who's a sucker for punishment? No one should
be.

Your resurrection of your old posts just shows that we have made
our own RECORD here. Or I should say, "We have dug our own social and
financial graves". Any potential employer can just Google up everything
about us. Anyone can Google up everything about us.

Thanks for the kind thoughts, Katie, but I'm not the same person any more.
The old Miki was fundamentally a nice guy. I'm the farthest thing from nice.

On the other hand, what's to stop me from trying to write, and from being
smart about it this time?

a couple of years ago, I think, Miki posted about going to town with
his brother and his brother goes into a bank while Miki sits in the
car and waits for him. Two armed armoured truck guards go into the
bank to retrieve the daily deposits, I guess, and Miki's voices tell
him that the two guards are going to kill his brother. Miki is fairly
close to his brother, so the voices are trying to exploit that, but
fortunately for Miki, he doesn't indulge in their paranoid beliefs.

Oh, yes, I remember now. That was in 1996! The whole incident made me feel
like a wimp and a coward. But when my brother left the bank unharmed, I
realized the voices had lied and that shut them up for a short time.

I find my voices lie fairly copiously. At one point they tried to tell me
that catatonic people can't die because they're not conscious, so at some
point they just get buried alive and live forever in their coffins. Talk
about bizarre!

But it really depends what voices are. I still get mental events from time
to time when I'm alone and inactive, but they're not preoccupying and
exercise no compulsion on me.

We all lie to ourselves at some points in time and space. A man who
hates God but lies all the time cannot hate God!

yesh, Miki seem to have it all together in the past but he never
really appreciated the present and now the future is uncertain for
him. Then again, the future is uncertain for all of us.

I believe that voices come from different entities.
Say demons,angels, etc.
Eg demons always lie and wants to trick us into delusions
and insanity,
while angels do not.
I believe that "chemical imbalance in the brain" can cause
only death and complete body dysfunction.
So I believe it is naive atheistic explanation.
I started to hear voices when I become theist and started
to believe that spiritual wold is real.
I have induced trance like state after prayer and lot of stress
induced by fear.
For a short time I achieved state when I saw tree kind
of people, demonic faces , blessed faces, and people
with fishy eyes. It looked to me that all people that
can;t see have fishy eyes.
It also looked to me that spiritual powers all the
time play trick with us. Mess with our thoughts,
not only schizophrenics but all.

Just thought I'd mention Miki, for anyone who is afraid of being
catatonic,
that as far as I know, it has never been known to bestow immortality
on anyone,
(actually neither has anything else, but that is another story)

I didn't consider that someone would be afraid of being catatonic. Sorry if
