Back to full dosage

    Default Back to full dosage

After just over 1 week of going on half of my usual dosage of risperdal
pill, i began feeling extremely irritable, paranoid, negative inferences
(thinking that people are gossiping about me), waking up at 4am in the
morning and hyper-sensitivity. I snapped at anyone at the slightest
provocation, real or imagined. The people closest to me, my mom, brother,
gf, got the nasty end of it. Last night i went back to my normal full dosage
    of 1mg.
I woke up at 7am this morning and felt better.

Things have been tough these past few days of half-dosage, so i think that
reducing the risperdal is not going to work out. I will just have to live
with its side-effects, ie. the jello dick.

pierre I'm glad you went back on your medication full dose. It can be a bad
experience and I've tried myself to quit or cut back on what has been
perscribed. I've learned the hard way it's either take the pills or suffer.
Sad to have to put up with side effects but that is what we have to deal
    with.

I'm grateful for your moral support, girl30.
I was on a paranoid streak for days and only today this afternoon after i
went back to full dosage last night, that i realised what was really
happening. I snapped back to reality and wrote emails, sms-es to the people
affected by my episode to tell them what happened, my half-dosage
experiment, etc. It's a big load off my chest.
I am going to work out at the gym later today.
i heard over the radio this morning that physical exercise does help people
who suffer from depression, and by extension i think that it also helps sz
sufferers. I always feel good after working out.

I was also reading this article on paranoid sz:
    http://www.healthsquare.com/mc/fgmc2415.htm

It always happens to me that when i am on my regular medication and i am
doing well then i decide that maybe i could cut back on the medication and
try out something new. But i always get a re-lapse. There is no escaping the
    medication. NO WAY, NO HOW.

You are very right. Exercise does help a lot. The more the better. I only
get short periods of exercise so I don't get that great relaxed feeling from
long periods. But I know what its like to do it. I also know about the
paranoia and the deep dark dive into the abyss.

hi "Just Me", it felt good to work out yesterday, the sweating, putting
muscles at work, was very therapeutic. my gym has tv sets for each
workstation, so we can watch movies or the news while exercising. I normally
spend about an hour to an hour and 15 mins doing the bicycle and pumping
iron. I don't use very heavy weights cos i don't want to bulk up like a body
builder, so i press moderate weights and do more repetitions per set just to
    get the right muscle tone.
