Default Bing -must see Nova

There is a new PBS Nova episode out called: "Ghost in Your Genes"

It is about "epigenetics."

It is the next phase of understanding of genes and why they act, or not act.

The episode explains it. My concern here is that a drug being used in
cancer patients, to reset their genes back to the coding they had at birth,
might help some schizophrenics too.

The same drug can activate both good and bad genes, so it is a crap-shoot.
However, as you all know, a 50-50 chance at a cure (with the risk of
becoming worse) may be a risk worth taking.

To understand this, you need to see the Nova episode. I do not explain
"epigenetics" here. I can't. It took a whole TV show to present a layman's
view of it.

For the first time, I have hope for a cure.

That does sound interesting. Of course, in Canada, I don't have a hope of
watching that Nova episode until next year.
