Default Book Thread - What You're Reading + Everything Book Related

An apt memory will improve your over-all awareness, intelligence, and/
or life. If you have a moderately slow or a sketchy memory, buy this
book, read it thoroughly and apply the techniques daily. I've been
applying the techniques for 3 months and have noticed a significant
increase in memory recall. I can now memorize and recite 35 words in
under 5 minutes of study. I highly suggest this book:

Increase intelligence through memorization? Just the opposite is
true.

But what do you expect from a spammer?

My memory seems to be problematic these days. I know it gets worse with
stress. I think a book on stress might be more helpful for me, but I'll
read the other reviews for that book. It could be helpful.

How is the opposite true? Notice I said an apt memory, not just
memorization! Perhaps intelligence is the wrong word, I don't know.

What I learned from this book is simple: with a little practice, I'm
able to to memorize dozens of words like they are nothing and still be
able to recite them, backwards and forwards, over a week later. Now,
to me, that is a major accomplishment, because I have a really poor
memory at times. I was hoping you all would find this book as
intriguing as I did. This book has helped me tremendously with my
schizophrenia, that's the only reason I presented it...

George, I think you'll be more than impressed if you decide to buy it.
I bought mine used and the price was 7.50 including s/h! I also use
Ginseng / Ginkgo Biloba daily, so that could be another reason why my
memory improved.

Memorization is a replacement for understanding. Which peg goes in the
round hole? An excellent memory won't help you figure it out,
either. A good memory can help you pass the test the next time, but
you stay stupid. See what I mean?

Memorization techniques are a dime a dozen. A temporary hobby, which
is ok. But this won't help OVERALL MEMORY. What did you do at 3:00
p.m. last Monday? Or did you forget your medication, again? These
things just happen, no matter how much you practice memorization.

And last, but not least. How in the hell can it help schizophrenia?
It's only good for jeopardy contestants, and politicians.

PS. One thing that does help schizophrenics is an interest.
Something to get off on for a few hours, days, or weeks. This may be
why your memorization games were helpful.

The only problem, is finding these things to do. Since, lethargy,
depression, etc., will take away interest in almost everything.

So if suggesting something of interest was your intent, I'm all for
it. But misleading people about memorization can be harmful (false
hopes).
