Default "Brain Reading" Device Can Predict What People See

X-No-Archive: yes

A new computer program can match brain activity with visual images and
even predict what people are seeing, a study has shown.

It would be interesting to see what Miki is thinking, 'eh?!;-)

Yesh, yesh, Gelly's pdoc can truly understand her by seeing what she
is thinking. I see great potential in this device.

Oh, no, that is already my main problem, having people looking at my
thoughts. Stop it.

Sounds like they could make a lie detector that way.

I could implant false memories into the computer!

The surveillance gets ever more intrusive.

Default Re: "Brain Reading", and MRI Lie Detecting Can Be Thwarted

When a person tells the truth, one area of the brain lights up.
When a person lies, two areas of the brain light up.
When THEY go to test question anything THEY know anyone will tell
the truth about, to test the lie detector, anyone can cause many areas
of the brain to light up every time, true or false.
All a person has to do is learn a table of correspondneces under
which everything can be catagorized. No one has to find a formal system,
like for example, the Oriental Pa Qua. Anyone can even make up their own
system.
Anyway, I catagorize, and line up, everything in a particular
order: 1, Sunday, a purple dot, . , on a yellow background, cats, ...;
2, Monday, a blue curve, U, on an orange background, frogs, ...; 3,
Tuesday, a green line, | , on a red background, wolves, ...; 4,
Wednesday, a yellow circle on a purple background, bats, ...; 5,
Thursday, an orange cross, X, on a blue background, goats, ...; 6,
Friday, a red parallel, = , on a green background. snakes, ...; and, 7,
Saturday, a magenta eye on a lime background, birds, ... .
If anyone just keeps on adding to their lists of correspondences,
many items will cause many other parts of their brains to light up when
they think of anything. In this way MRI lie detecting will be
impossible.
