Cause of Schizophrenia Discovered

Schizophrenia has been found to be caused by a gene called DISC1.
During the growth of the brain this gene causes much more than the
normal number of connections between brain neurons.
There are ten billion cells in the brain. In the "normal" human
brain there are a trillion connections between these neurons. Us
schizophrenics have about a quadrillion connections between our neurons.
There is a condition, not considered a disease, explained by extra
neural connections, synesthesia. Synethets have mixed senses, like,
seeing sounds and hearing smells. All the great geniuses, like Leonardo
Da Vinci, Isaac Newton, and Francis Bacon, were synesthets.
Us, with the quadrillion connections, should also be synesthets. I
just happen to be synesthetic. I love to hear the taste of licorice.
With schizophrenia now defined to be a genetic disease, and the
gene actually found and identified, the Armed Forces are going to do DNA
tests to keep schizophrenics out of the service.
What of all us veterans tagged schizophrenic? We're
"grandfathered". Any new laws passed can't be applied to things
pertaining to before the laws were was passed. That would be "ex post
facto" action forbidden by our Constitution.
But, that part of the Constitution is getting weak. There are
"bills of attainder" being enforced "ex post facto", called "sex
offender lists". We'd better hope that this political disease doesn't
spread to the federal government.
It is argued, "What can be done with them then?"; while execution
(euthanasia) is both Constitutional and Biblical. What's the problem?
We can now see that dopamine blockers are useless and harmful in
fighting this natural condition. Schizophrenia is a permanent structure,
and blocking the reward system is only inflcting more pain.
Blocking glutamate with acamprosate, or helping GABA block
glutamate, with gabapentin, helps, and is pleasant.
Schizophrenia can be seen to be actually a genotype, a race of
beings, who have at least the rights to the humne treatment that is due
to animals, but actually the full rights of a minority ethnic group.
Since we can't help how we're born, and it is disabling, we
deserve welfare, "liberty or death (euthanasia)". I say to the system,
"If you deny me a death (euthanasia) you owe me a living".

I find it Ironic that they would bar SZers from entering military
forces.

I would think a paranoid schizophrenic would be beneficial on the
battle field. ?

The Armed Forces has been very fussy since they becames "all
volunteer". But, back when I went in there was the draft and they'd take
anybody, absolutely anybody.
In fact 4F's who got caught protesting the war were drafted as a
punishment, and if they didn't obey they ended up in the brig.
But today the Armed Forces can discriminate against anything. I
know of a young guy who just recently tried to sign up, they said, "Come
back when you're forty pounds lighter". So there's discrimination just
over a little fat.
Of course we can't do anything about the structure of our brains,
and schizophrenia is set structure. Dopamine blockers and shock
treatments are just cruel and unusual punishments for being ourselves,
for being what we are.

My suspicion is we are an evolving species, I fear they will try and wipe
us out as mutants, I think we are a transition stage to a new and
peaceful species.

Our misery is cased by the sufferings inflicted by others on others and
by others on ourselves.

I'm replying to both Miguel and Ram Jam's messages.

I think us, as Szers, are the next step in evolution, and the elitists
inbreds of this planet know this. I think we are experiencing an
oversized pineal gland, which normally is the size of a pea. If you
research the function of the pineal gland, it becomes more and more
mysterious. Some believe this is the "third eye" which allows you to
see, hear, and feel the other dimensions of being.

The last time I was labelled as "psychotic," I felt as if I was
psychic, and was receiving messages from other psychically endowed
people. Of course I didn't do anything rash about it, but I
considered it as a new form of communication. I didn't vocalize what
I was thinking to these beings, but I rather thought what I was going
to say, and transmitted it to them.

But really, I think this is the next step in evolution and people like
the Illuminati, the Masons, etc. want to suppress the random mutations
of humankind in order to control us "intellectually" gifted. We are
entering a new Aeon in 2012, and maybe they want to control the new
age coming upon us.

Ya, my senses are all mixed, but they are well ordered. The taste,
smell and sound of licorice, my favorite flavor, is the "Lost Word". It
spikes dopamine.

As we've reported in the past, the gene called DISC 1 (Disrupted in
Schizophrenia) has been linked to increased risk for schizophrenia. (see
past stories here and here). If you have some significant biology
knowledge and want to learn more about schizophrenia genetics - this

How the gene that has been pegged as a risk factor for schizophrenia and
other mood disorders that affect millions of Americans contributes to
these diseases remains unclear. However, the results of a new study by
Hopkins researchers and their colleagues, appearing in the journal
"Cell", provide a big clue by showing what this gene does in normal
adult brains.
