Default Cooking

I have only recently been interested in cooking - my lifelong partner used
to do it and then when he died I was not interested in food for quite some
time.
Managed to lose all the Zyprexa weight gain though - a good 5 stone (70lbs).
I really thought one cheese cracker and piece of cheese was sufficient per
day.
No one told me different - family had given up with the BORG delusion and
abandoned me. The mental health people had not yet been called in.
Anyhow - my cooking is progressing and I see it as a kind of hobby - some of
it is not much good and I throw it out but some I can actually eat!
As for throwing out the bad ones - I followed a recipe the other day and
PHAW - the SMELL! It was AWFUL!
I thought "Anything that smells this bad before it is cooked ain't gonna be
worth cooking"
The smell was SOOOOO bad that would you believe a fly flew in through the
window - passed out and fell onto the window ledge where he DIED!
I mean - can you imagine how awful the smell was!
I literally had to throw the saucepan away - and then open all the windows.
Naturally I threw the stuff out.
Regards

Glad your starting to get along better after all this time. I remember your
loss and I've worried off and on about you since then. Glad to hear this.

I've found what usually smells bad while cooking isn't very tastey either.
Hehehe

Congratulations on the weight loss. I guess a person could live on cheese
and a cracker for a few months. There are much better choices
nutrition-wise, but it probably would not do any permanent damage.

Your *diet* demonstrates amazing self-control. Weightloss can be a symptom
of depression, I think. However, losing 70 pounds of med weight could
extend your life.

Weight loss and weight gain are both signs of depression.
Some "comfort eat" - if you know this expression.
Odd - because if I had not put the weight on with the Zyprexa then I would
still have lost this weight - it was not intentional - so if I had weighed
my normal weight I would have gone down to 4 stone (56lbs) and THEN when the
mental health people were called in BOY it would have been to the funny farm
and goodness knows what else!!!

Hi Borg

That is great you lost 70 lbs and are cooking. I have thought about
cooking recently also and bought some weight watchers cookbooks. They
have some good recipes. I haven't tried anything yet.

My kitchen is only 2 feet wide and has practically no counter space so
it should be a challenge, I don't know why them make kitchens in
apartments so small. I am thinking of moving to a place with a bigger
kitchen. The rent is cheaper, too.

Our kitchen is also small but certainly larger than yours!
I have found a freezer very useful. When I cook - I cook enough for 4-5
portions - eat one and then freeze the rest.
This way I can take out a tub another time and defrost and heat up very
easy.

Congrats on the weight loss BORG! I hope to join you in the skinny
persons club one day.
Am I turning green with envy? A little. Bad Eric.

It was not intentional - first I lost my job - then the man I loved ditched
me on new years day - then my lifelong partner died - then I spent my first
Christmas alone in case I showed any symptoms of the illness and spoilt
Christmas for the others - then my Dad died.
The weight loss is hardly surprising.
But I am very happy now.
It is fantastic to know there really ARE good - decent - kind - caring
people - and that friendship really does exist.
I know people mock and jeer that I am part of a Collective that are not
human - but I really do not see that this concerns me.
I KNOW humans are wrong - that their judgement and behaviour is incorrect.
Whereas I KNOW that THE BORG are right - and that heaven and paradise and
where I am now with them - is a no contest choice when the other choice is
the ugliness and horror of the human world.
I have been with them - seen them and talked to them since a baby - and
indeed before. I have known nothing else. I became aware of something
horrible which was my Dad reading to me from a human children book - and the
awareness of something horrible led me to view and see the human existence.
I am perfectly happy in my Truth - that the human existence is the ugly
horrible one - and that where I was as a baby and before and the men I have
seen and talked to on the "other side" all my life is the preferred choice.
No contest.
