Default desperately seeking lively conversation

Here's a brief summary of my recent chat interlocutors:

- one who obsessed on their own concerns to such an extent that I felt like
they found me completely uninteresting

- one who was largely unresponsive except when they felt a need to fill the
silence with monosyllabic mumbles

- one who conversed in terms of almost exclusive pseudomystical mumbo-jumbo
that is very, very hard for anyone not living inside their head to fathom

- one who was nice to talk to but couldn't cope with my negativity back when
it was at its worst and now avoids me

- one who is chronically tired and doesn't have the stamina to chat for more
than about 30 seconds before going back to bed

Is there no esprit anywhere in the world any longer? What I wouldn't do for
some *real* conversation....

You need to go to the coffee shop and order a tall coffee and sit out
on the patio drinking coffee and smoking a fag while talking to
yourself. Don't be concern with the people around you, just ignore
them! There is NOTHING wrong, or illegal, with talking to yourself!
But, if you must talk with a real human being then go chat with Jane
over in the depression group, just be careful what you say to her or
she might get offended and you'll have to deal with ol' "%". ;-)

I miss Daniel's and Gravity's posts around here!

my library has the cheshire cat on the library card, cause it's where
i live.

I went into a chat room in 1999. I asked, "Is there anyone here?"
and a woman started asking me what I wanted to do.
I was spooked, I said, 'well, I have to go walk the dog."
she responded "?"

I actually had to walk the dog.
