Default Eye problems survey

Seeing if there is any odd prevalance of certain eye problems around
here.

I have astigmatism, some lazy eye, and farsightedness. None are bad
enough that I really require glasses, would only have a light
prescription

??

Have you heard of the eye tests for sz?

Interesting.

Neurological connections.

I am very nearsighted, I have to wear glasses or contacts.

It's hard to find a good eye doctor in this town. I just went to one
and he gave me a presciption that was too weak.

I also have astigmatism, besides the nearsightedness.

What are the eye tests for sz?

It was a very simple lesson that taught me that the way we use our
eyes also has a direct connection to the quality of our eyesight.
I tried to use a mobile phone in a room without adequate lighting and
couldn't see the letters to text. Walked into a sunlit room, and had
no problem seeing the letters.
What I needed to read, like the ingredients in a product, was written
in such tiny writing, that I just couldn't read when I was out
shopping.
I sometimes read books at night, with low lighting, and after a while
the letters started to run into each other, and I went to see an
optician. The three pairs of glasses I came out with, I wore, for
reading, watching tv, and some tinted glasses for wearing outside.
Then my eyes started to blur, our dog crunched one pair of glasses and
I decided to use a magnifying glass when I needed to read anything. I
have difficulties remembering things occasionally, and have forgotten
what the optician said about my eyesight. But I do know that I can
usually read outside in sunlight, what I cannot read indoors without a
magnifying glass. When I use the computer I have it set to use larger
fonts.

I read that William H Bates was way ahead of his time in exploring
ways of self-help eyesight improvement.

Best wishes
Judy

I was just talking about how long I have had vision problems needing
glasses and I can remember as a child putting my fingers together to
form a pin hole opening which I would look thru and be able to see
clearly... I have heard that the Eskimo's used a form of glasses with
just a narrow slot in them (without a lens) to see. Curious to me.

In the Sixties I caught hospital staph in Valley Forge Army
Hospital in their barber shop. A little knick on the back of my neck
turned into a big boil and the infection spread down my back. In 1973 it
spread to my face, and by 1976 it got into my eyes.
A discharge from the inection usually interfered with clear vision
so that I went to a local drug store and asked for a spray bottle so I
could spray eye wash into my eyes before my driving eye test to renew my
license.
The owner of the store said, "That's dispicable, cheating on a
driving eye test! Get out of here, and if you ever come back I'll call
the cops!" Ya, it's Massachusetts.
I had astigmatism since I was 10, which caused all the lines of
music to vibrate together so I couldn't read music any more; but, I
didn't really need glasses until the Nineties. Since then the glasses
have had to be stronger and stronger glasses to see enough.
But, back in 1982 I was diagnosed as having staph encephalitis. My
dog Sophie started out with eye infections, and she died of
encephalitis.
But, I don't die easily. I know. I always tried when the pressure
was too much. I did things that would have killed an elephant. I'm a
member of the Cro Magnon Club and its Alchemy61.

That's us! We often resurrect with an infection, which we spread.
Society deserves it for what THEY do to us! The Greek for disease,
"noso", and, carry, "feros", "nosoferos" came to be called "nosferatu"
in the Old Country, the Dark Country.

I have an eye glass collection.
One I use for reading, one for seeing clearly in a room, and one I use
for outdoors so things at a distance are nice and sharp and I can relax
my eyes.
And a whole bunch of inbetween sizes too.

I easily recognize that my vision is not constant.
It changes.
Some days I have to change my "house glasses" for a higher or lower
magnification for doing things indoors around the house., for example.

My prescription glasses leave me fuzzy from about one foot out to about
three feet out.
Try going down an aisle in te supermarket trying to graze wth fuzzy
vision on all the shelves?

I recommend strongish room glasses for comfortable grazing experiances..

I have two glasses to read, 1.5 and 2 if that rings any bell in the
states.
One of them was from my late father, which is a good one for me

In my youth I had glasses for seeing in far distance, but they were
only weak glasses and later in life I was to vain to wear them and
my eyes improved again, I still have them for when I drive a car in
the
dark or in the mist, then every extra is welcome.

1.5 might be good distance glasses.
Same with the 2.
I read with a 3.5 or 4
Ina room I need maybe 225 or 250.

But somedays, I can see better then others.
