First Love Part 1

So...

We went to the same grade school, junior high and high school.

We were maybe both seen as the artists of our classes, he was one year
ahead of me.

Knew of each other but didn't really start hanging around till high
school. Still don't know each other.

In high school, there was a lot of pot smoking, etc.

He would come over to my house and everyone would smoke pot.

Some things went bad.

I got paranoid and awkward when everyone smoked pot and couldn't talk
any more.

Many years later I learned through his music that he had thought I
turned cold and was cheating a lot.

It has taken me 15 minutes to reply to this message. Why? Because I'm
at my parents' place using a donated PowerBook 1400cs, which is old
and slow.

Oh, ya. Kimka. She sat in the row in front of me off to the side in
the 7th grade. All schoolday I could feast my eyes on that lovely
raven hair and catch glimpses of her profile as she turned to talk to
the girl next to her. I'd go home and lie on my bed and tremble but
never dared to approach her. And, when someone jokingly mentioned her
getting together with me, her face screwed up in disgust.

Even if your first relationship ended badly at least there was _a_
relationship. You weren't consigned to an eternity of lonelines the
way I've been.

I've really been lonely ever since. It is actually a long story. I
left out a lot of details. Just a style that came to me.

I think you're doing well, all things considered Gelly.
