Default fuck you Social Security for damaging my mental health

Social Security sent out the state patrol to spy on my to see if I was really
schizophrenic.. Fuckers.. No it's not paranoia I have the report from SS
confirming it. This has sent my paranoia into over drive. Thank you for making
me ill Social Security! If the motherfucking cock suckers had just left me
alone to finish college I might have been able to get off SSDI but no, they had
to sent undercover cops to my house posing as mail fraud investigaters and other
tricks. My lawyer confirms that they often pose as mail fraud investigators.
Now my mental health is worse then ever and I'll have to drop out of college
while I fight to keep my SSDI benefits. ASSHOLES!

The stupid beorocrats said I was disabled by depression and not schizophrenia..
sheesh.. so since I did not look depressed as I stumbled down the street
talking to myself they cut me off. They are the real crazy ones..

Just as I was starting to build my confidence and was actually fantasizing aobut
getting a job they come and pull the rug right out from under me. Of course
they cut off my medical too. Get this.. they said that I am "still imparied"
but they cut off my medical insurance and my cash and told me to get a job.. A
job doing what? I'm a bus driver by trade.

They want a paranoid psychotic to go out and drive a gasoline tanker or a school
bus. Yeah that sounds really smart.

Mind quoting from the decision letter they sent you? Bureaucrat language can
be obscure, and they might be saying something you've missed that could help
you. Above all you can't expect them to operate on the basis of common sense
because, silly as it sounds, that's not their job. They interpret
legislation so their reasoning tends to be artificial.

You also seem to see yourself objectively, and that can make people
suspicious. It's rare for someone who's paranoid and deluded not to be
wrapped up in the paranoia and delusion. Not arguing with you, just hoping
some of these observations help.

I see myself objectively after the events have happened... My problem is my
intelligence and 5 years of cognitive therapy, it gives me too much incite. A
few days after I get really upset when I realize how deluded I was. I have
other delusions that I know are delusions but I also know they are true. I can
somehow have two opposite beliefs operating in my mind at the same time.

To send the police to spy on someone with a paranoid psychotic disorder is just
beyond cruel. They really have damaged my mental health with this. If the
fuhrers just leave me alone to live my life I can be relatively stable, well SS
can't have that can they?? When people start screwing with me then I go off the
deep end.

Now that my symptoms are so exaggerated it is easier for me to look back and see
my lessor symptoms over the past couple of years.. funny how that works.. my
self esteem is shot now. I had deluded myself into thinking there had never
been anything wrong with me that had not been caused by taking psychiatric
drugs.... That delusion was shattered and now I have to find a way to hold my
ego together. All I can hold onto now is the idea that the past psychiatric
drugging gave me permanent brain damage.

Never mind 14 years of sexual abuse, being pulled away from my mother at the age
of 4 and 10 years of physical abuse at the hands of my stepmother and father
plus getting kicked out and dumped into state run group homes for the last two
years of my childhood.

it is actually schizoaffective that they have me labeled with at the moment.

Interesting.

How many years were you on SSDI?

Have you been seeing a p-doc, who might be willing to do paperwork for you?

You have got me wonderring which phone calls or visits to my door might have
been an investigator.

It was my understanding they were supposed to get my paperwork re-done every
3 years, but it has been about 7 years with no such demands.

Did you do any work, particulaly the kind that generates a paycheck?

Thanks for the tip about them claiming to be mail fraud investigators. I'll
be watching.

as part of my three year review they decided something was not right and sent it
to some inspector general who then sent out the state patrol to spy. I wondered
why the rive vie process took so long. I've been on it off and on for many
years starting when I was 18. No I did not work but I went back to college.
They look at your bumper stickers if you have a car. I had someone interrogate
me about my bumpier stickers, he had been sitting in a white van across from my
house then he comes over and asked me about my college bumper sticker, if i was
in collage, how it was going, what I was studying. I was failing at the time
and that is what I told him. He looked out of place in my hood.

there is no psychiatrist in my county who takes my insurance so I went to a GP
instead. I also have a movement disorder and am very anti-med and
anti-psychiatry. I swear that the less contact I have wight mental "health"
professionals the better off I am. not having a pock probably messed me up.. I
have one now though. seeing him does more harm then good but I'm required to
see one to document my disability.. has about 80 years old, I hope he lives long
enough to testify at my review.

If you have any enemies (and being paranoid tends to generate lots of enamels)
they can report you to SS and then they might investigate too. In my case they
did not find any fraud in fact they say I am still impaired but they expect me
to go back to work anyway. drop out of college and go to work as a burger
flipper I guess i'm sure not safe to drive a bus.

I don't have the full report yet just he report saying they sent it to an
investigator and then cut me off , maybe my paranoia will get better when I see
it or maybe it will get worse.

I seem to recall from about ten years ago, that one could not initially
qualify, if going to school. However, I phoned SS, since then, and was told
that I am not prohibited from attending school. The woman said they
encourage it.

Perhaps attending school is a trap, like doing work.

Thanks for sharing your story.

I was a full time student when I first went on disabling at the age of 18 and
they knew it. Later I went back on disabling and I was working 16 hours a week
when I applied for disability later in life and they knew it and granted me
disability payments.

It is the CDI office that is number 2 in the country for cutting people off.
They seem to be in some kind of contests. All this has done my head in
completely.

SS claimed I was o n it for depression.. but I was not! I was on it
schizoaffective. Ineptitude I guess.. even have paper work from sst that says I
have bipolar according to their rules but now they say I'm on it for
depression.. go figure..

I don't get it. In your original post you said SS told you you're not
schizophrenic, and here you say they've labelled you as schizoaffective.
From what I understand schizoaffective is bipolar + schizophrenia. It's also
not clear why they would cut off your medical, or even your benefit, if they
say you're schizoaffective. If I'm missing something please let me know.

Did you end up telling the guy from the white van that you weren't seeing
any doctors? I don't know if SS works the same way as the equivalent does up
here, but up here, if you're not seeing a doctor then there's no evidence of
a medical problem. Weird to think of it that way but that's how it works
(and I can explain it to you if you're interested). By the way statutes and
regs govern what government people do, they were forced to conclude that
there's nothing wrong with you. So having them cut off your benefits doesn't
surprise me.

If you want to get back on SS you'll probably have to find a psychiatrist,
which means changing your insurance. Don't worry about telling the
psychiatrist that you're anti-psychiatry because docs see that as a symptom.
But I'm not telling you what to do, just outlining part of your range of
options and consequences.

The whole school business sounds like a red herring. More likely they cut
you off because you weren't receiving medical treatment.

Don't waste energy being outraged at how government clerks screw up. It's
not on purpose and not against you. It's doubtful they even care. That's why
all kinds of people experience frustration with government, including rich
businessmen. And there isn't much anyone can do to hold the government
responsible for its mistakes, so it's best to just ask them politely to
correct them. Yes, it outrages our sense of natural justice, but you might
have noticed the world is basically an unjust place, so the sooner you get
rid of that sense the more chance you'll have a decent life.

Many schizophrenia patients are getting re-labelled as schizoaffective.
Confusion can be expected.

In my area, even in-program psychiatrists refuse to accept patients on their
Medicare HMO.

They have lists of psychiatrists, but as you go through the entire list they
are all unavailable. Decades ago psychitrists had "sliding scales" to help
make sure everyone could get care. Now they demand $300 per hour. Period.
Tough beans.

It does seem to me that the thing that made the decision was not
having medical evidence.

I am so sorry this happened to you. I also have schizoaffective
disorder and have been sometimes misdiagnosed as depressed because I
was hiding my symptoms for so long (out of paranoia, get that).

Also I am in a case to try to get disability now and am hoping to be
able to return to try part-time school when I am on it.

Your story scares me.

Sorry.

I found a pdoc in a different county who takes medicare so I started seeing him
last month.. he is 80 years old and seems to have short term memory problems, he
looks like he could keel over any moment.. but I have to take what I can get.
I'd much rather just keep on seeing the PA but I just learned the hard way that
will not cut it.

That clears up one thing but opens up other questions. You said you used to
be on SSI and then they cut you off. Up here, that doesn't happen at just
any old time unless there is fraud (and no, I'm not suggesting that's the
case with you). There's a periodic review of eligibility every few years.
Mine is coming up in November after two years. In that time the disability
people haven't asked me for, and wouldn't even accept, fresh medical
evidence. So do things in the U.S. work differently? It sounds like they did
an ad hoc eligibility review. Was it routine and random, or did someone
"snitch" something, or did they just happen to notice something that was
staring them in the face for a long time?

It sounds like you've already been taking steps to resolve personal issues.
What led you to post what you posted here just today?

It was the normal every three years review. I got myself of SSI by getting a
job.. later in life I became too disabled to work again and went back on
disability. Now I have been cut off.

To rant on usenet rather than rant on the streets of my hometown and alert
everyone to my insanity. Also to warn others who are undergoing their reviews.
I am in the middle of a severe episode.

How much longer do you have to finish school? Maybe you could go part-
time.

That's the thing, I have to go full time in order to get funding to pay for it..
I finished my first two years of college in 1989.. I only went back last year.
I had the same problem back in 1989, you can not get full financial aid to pay
for it unless you go full time.. kind a sucks..

I might not be able to go back in the fall.. If I'm still in this head space I
will really struggle.. I might get through it with help from disabled student
services but what would the point be? I would not learn much.. I'll take a
year off if I have to.

Praise to you for managing to resume your studies at all after 19 years off.
What are you studying?
